Former Harbour Air Facility Soil Removal Action
Northwest Regional Airport Authority is requesting Bids for the construction of the following Project: Former Harbour Air Facility Soil Removal Action. Bids for the construction of the Project will be received at the Northwest Regional Airport Authority Administration Office located at 727 Fly Don’t Drive, Traverse City, Michigan 49686 until Friday, August 16, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. local time. At that time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read. The Project includes the following Work: Demolition, excavation, and backfilling site of approximately 670 yd3 of petroleum contaminated soil from a former above ground storage tank, monitoring well installation, and restoration with grass. The Project has an expected duration of 90 days. A mandatory pre-bid conference for the Project will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the Cherry Capital airport second-floor conference room at 727 Fly Don’t Drive, Traverse City, Michigan 49686.
New Non-Stop Service Between Houston (IAH) and Traverse City
“The Houston service continues to show the awesome service and commitment on behalf of United Airlines to Northern Michigan. Houston is United’s 5th nonstop destination (Chicago, Denver, Newark, Washington DC/Dulles) and part of TVC’s 20 nonstop offerings.” stated Kevin Klein, Airport CEO.
The summer service will begin Saturday, June 29th, and operate through Saturday, August 17th. The E-175 aircraft will depart IAH at 11:55 a.m. (CT) and arrive TVC at 4:04 p.m. (EST). The flight will then depart TVC at 5:00 p.m. (EST) and arrive at IAH at 7:05 p.m. (CT).
Avelo Air – TVC to New Haven, CT
We are thrilled to report that Avelo Air is coming to TVC with new Non-Stop service to New Haven, CT. Avelo Airlines announced today exclusive nonstop service between Traverse City’s Cherry Capital Airport (TVC) and Southern Connecticut’s most convenient airport – Tweed-New Haven Airport (HVN). “Avelo is the first and only airline offering non-stop service between the “Cherry Capital of the World” and Connecticut,” stated TVC CEO President, Kevin Klein. Potential S. Airport Rd. travel delays due to Grandview Parkway/Front Street Construction
Attention Cherry Capital Airport travelers. Please be sure to allow for extra time for your arrival to the airport between March and November in 2024. Construction related to the rebuild of Grandview Parkway/Front Street includes a commercial traffic detour via South Airport Road that will cause increased congestion and longer commute times for those driving to and from the airport. TVC gets new credential authentication technology unit
TRAVERSE CITY, Michigan — A credential authentication technology (CAT) unit has been installed and is in use at the Transportation Security Administration checkpoint at Cherry Capital Airport (TVC).
“The new credential authentication technology unit enhances our detection capabilities for identifying fraudulent ID documents and improves the passenger’s experience by increasing efficiency during the checkpoint experience,” said Michigan TSA Federal Security Director Steve Lorincz. “The CAT unit also reduces touchpoints at the checkpoint, which benefits both officers and travelers during this pandemic.”

Pursuant to DOT Order 1000.12C, the FAA requires that all airport sponsors that are recipients of Federal financial assistance have a Title VI Plan that has been approved by the FAA.

Codified Rules and Regulations, Chapter 800 – The Northwest Regional Airport Authority has the authority to adopt and amend all necessary rules, regulations, and ordinances, for the management, government, and use of the Cherry Capital Airport and any properties under its control. MCL 259.133. The Airport is neither designed nor intended as a public forum for First Amendment activities. Such activities will only be permitted in or upon the public areas of the Airport as set forth and, in the manner, prescribed by this Chapter.

Cherry Capital Airport has prepared this Emergency Contingency Plan pursuant to 42301 of the FAA Modernization and Reform Act of 2012. Questions regarding this plan can be directed to Dan Sal at dan.sal@tvcairport.com.
